Full Text : On March 6, 2026, the Yekeh Kolubah blog claimed that the government of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, in a cabinet meeting, had agreed to demolish the Invincible Sports Park, located along Tubman Boulevard in Monrovia which was constructed under the administration of former President George Weah.
The post stated that it had been "confirmed" that President Boakai and his cabinet "agreed to demolish the Invincible Park built by former President Weah."
The post generated significant attention on Facebook, accumulating 954 reactions, 433 comments, and 33 shares, with commenters divided in their support for and against the claim.
The Invincible Sports Park was constructed under the administration of former President George Weah and officially dedicated on April 15, 2022. Construction began in February 2021, and the facility was funded jointly by the National Port Authority (NPA), the Liberia Maritime Authority, and the National Social Security and Welfare Corporation (NASSCORP).
The park, situated in Sinkor on the former practice grounds of the Invincible Eleven football club near the James Spriggs Payne Airfield, includes an official FIFA-standard football field, two practice pitches, basketball courts, volleyball and lawn tennis courts, a children's playground, a skating rink, a VIP lounge, and modern housing units for former community residents. President Weah named the facilities after prominent Liberian sports personalities.
Verification : To verify the claim, TSM contacted Daniel Sando, deputy minister of Information via WhatsApp. His response did not confirm the claim. He said, "Does that post make sense to you? Go ask Yekeh. Why is it that you journalists are just in the business of elevating any nonsense you see on social media?"
Given the ambiguity of Deputy Minister Sando's response, TSM made further inquiries. Kula V. Fofana, President Boakai Press Secretary was contacted via telephone and directly denied the claim. She stated:
"At no time was such a conversation held. If for any reason that were to be discussed, at no time in a recent cabinet meeting was that discussion held."
TSM also reached out to the Yekeh Kolubah blog via WhatsApp to inquire about the source or basis for their claim. The blog responded:
