Full Text: On September 9, 2025, Realtv/TruthFM, a media outlet owned by businessman-turned-politician Representative Musa Hassan Bility, made waves on social media with a bold assertion about Vice President Jeremiah Kpan Koung.
The Facebook post claimed that VP Koung had purchased the former headquarters of the now-defunct Collaborating Political Parties (CPP) located in Sinkor. The post quickly generated 93 reactions, 5 shares, and 55 comments, with many users questioning various aspects of the claim.
The CPP was a significant political alliance in Liberia's recent history. Originally formed in 2018, the coalition brought together four major opposition parties: the All Liberian Party (ALP), the Unity Party (UP), the Alternative National Congress (ANC), and the Liberty Party (LP).
The National Elections Commission (NEC) certified the alliance in 2020. However, cracks began to show by February 2022 when both the ALP and UP withdrew from the coalition. A month later, in March 2022, a substantial faction of the LP also departed. The alliance officially dissolved in April 2024, marking the end of what many had hoped would be a formidable opposition coalition.
Verification: The Stage Media reached out directly to the vice president's office to verify the claim. Edwin G. Korden, special aide to Vice President Jeremiah Kpan Koung, was connected to provide clarity on the situation during a WhatsApp conversation.
Korden said, "My boss has been talking to the owner of the property about purchasing the place, but it has not happened," Korden explained. "The property becomes his when he buys it, but that has not happened. Therefore, the information is misleading."
We also reached out to Realtv/Truthfm for comment on their claim in light of the Vice President's office response but have not received a reply as of publication. This article will be updated if and when they provide their response.
