Gray posted on his official Facebook handle claiming that Liberia's council of churches has suspended its President, Dr. Samuel Reeves for a viral social media statement made regarding the purchase of a "luxury" vehicle by President Boakai.

The Liberia Council of Churches (LCC) is an ecumenical Christian organization in Liberia, founded in 1982 following the coup and overthrow of the True Whig Party and the assassination of former president Rev. William R. Tolbert, Jr.
It began with the Liberia Baptist Missionary and Educational Convention, United Methodist, Catholic Archdiocese of Monrovia, Presbyterian, Episcopal, and Lutheran Churches.

Verification:Rev. Dr. Samuel B. Reeves Jr. is a prominent religious leader in Liberia. He serves as the senior pastor of Providence Baptist Church and the head of the Liberian Baptist Missionary and Educational Convention.
Currently, he is serving as the president of the Liberia Council of Churches, a position he was elected to in 2022.
When TSM contacted Lennart Dodoo via WhatsApp, he responded that the LCC had issued a statement clarifying that the publication was not from them.
He emphasized, "I do not stand by the publication in the print edition and the paper went to bed before the LCC clarification reached us. Therefore, we opted not to post that particular story online and we will publish the clarification from the LCC as well."
When asked whether he contacted LCC before publishing the story, he stated, "Again, I said to you that we received clarification from the LCC after the paper had gone to press. Acknowledging their response, we decided not to republish the story on our website as we would normally do. Instead, we decided to publish the clarification from the LCC."
Rev. Christopher Toe, Secretary General of the Council, when contacted by TSM, dismissed the report circulating claiming that Rev. Reeves had been suspended.
He characterized these reports as "misleading and unfounded."
When questioned about whether The Liberian Investigator had attempted to verify this information before publication, Rev. Toe confirmed that no representative from said news outlet had contacted him or the LCC to confirm the story's accuracy before publishing it.
Addressing the proper protocols for official communications, Rev. Toe explained that the LCC follows strict procedures when issuing statements on political matters.
"All official statements from our organization are presented on our official letterhead, properly signed, and bear our official stamp," he said.
Rev. Toe said the authentication measures are in place specifically to prevent misinformation and to maintain the integrity of the council's communications.
When we phoned the telephone numbers (0776497395/0886518724) attached to the release posted by the blog, TSM discovered that they belong to Rev. Toe, secretary of LCC.
Rev. Kortu K. Brown, who previously served as president of the Liberia Council of Churches (LCC), rejected claims regarding a suspension within the organization.
Rev. Brown emphasized that the LCC's operational structure does not include suspension mechanisms of the type described in recent communications. "The Liberia Council of Churches doesn't work that way in terms of suspension.”
Conclusion: Following verification by the LCC and Dodoo, the claim that the LCC suspend its president is false.
