Verdict: The claim that "Former President George Weah is in his Edith Gongloe-Weh attire and set to enter Nimba County" is misleading.
Full Text: During the early morning of April 18, 2025, The Closing Argument, an online talk show platform, made a post titled “Former President George Weah is currently in his Edith Gongloe-Weh attire and set to enter Nimba County."
This post was accompanied by an alleged picture of former President Weah and Gongloe-Weh wearing her campaign attire with the inscription “Edith #3,” which represents her position on the Nimba Senatorial bi-election ballot.

Edith is one of seven contesting the senatorial seat in Nimba to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Prince Johnson, ex-rebel leader.
The bi-election in the county has since taken a dramatic turn. Some renowned Liberians and political parties have clearly taken a stand, while others are said to support from the back secretly.
Jewel Howard-Taylor, ex-president Weah's vice president, is among the women leaders who have openly stepped forward in support of Edith as the only woman against six men.
Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, Gongloe-Weh's former boss, bragged of her incredible job serving as superintendent under her administration; hence, they have decided to join and accelerate efforts to support Gongloe-Weh's candidacy.
Charlyn Brumskine is openly supporting Edith even though her party (Liberty Party) is part of the Unity Party alliance that recently endorsed Kogar's candidacy and has since been campaigning to ensure his win.
Meanwhile, Alexander Cummings, the political leader of the Alternative National Congress (ANC), has formally endorsed Madam Gongloe-Weh for the upcoming Nimba County senatorial bi-election.
Verification: a Google image check was done on the image. We found that:
- The image shared by The Closing Argument on April 18, 2025, was not recent
- The original image dates back to the 2023 elections when Gongloe-Weh endorsed then-President Weah
- The image was edited to change details, including altering "Weah 2" to "Edith 3" on the campaign attire
- Reversed Image Search reveals the manipulated nature of the image
Meanwhile, we also found that several Facebook posts were made with the original image that was fabricated by the outlet. Please see here and here.
Conclusion
The claim is misleading as it presents an altered image from 2023 as current news. The original image showed Gongloe-Weh supporting Weah during the 2023 elections, not Weah supporting her 2025 senatorial candidacy as implied.
